What we conform to

This site is built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

It was last audited on September 10, 2026 with zero automated violations found across 7 pages (Accessibility statement, Growing up, Homepage, Kid mode, Parent app, Privacy, When she asks if Lumi is real) at both a desktop and a phone size, using axe-core 4.10.2, plus a manual keyboard and screen reader check by a person.

We do not call this site certified, and we do not use an accessibility overlay widget. Conformance with evidence is the thing that holds up; a badge is not.

What has been done

• Every control can be reached and used with a keyboard alone, in a sensible order, with a focus ring you can see on every surface.
• Every button, link, and image carries a name a screen reader can read, including the envelope, the moon, and the video controls.
• Text meets a 4.5:1 contrast ratio and controls meet 3:1, including over the moving aurora sky.
• Every video a parent can play has captions and a written transcript of what the princess says.
• Nothing moves on its own if your device asks for reduced motion, and the Display panel has a Pause animations switch for everyone else.
• You can pinch and zoom, and text can be enlarged to 200 percent without losing content.
• An automated audit runs against the live site before every release, and it blocks the release if it finds anything.

The Display button

The round button in the bottom left corner opens Display: bigger text in three steps, higher contrast, paused animations, underlined links, and a plainer reading font. It remembers your choice on this device.

It only changes how the page looks. It never rewrites the page for a screen reader, and it loads no third-party code, so what your assistive technology hears is the real page either way.

Known limits

• Kid mode is deliberately wordless. It is a full screen video for a child who cannot read yet, and it plays with sound. The same video, with captions and a transcript, is always available to the parent in the parent app.
• The videos are generated, so the princess is a synthetic voice and image. There is no audio description track; the transcript covers what she says.
• Leaving kid mode needs a press and hold, which is a deliberate lock a small child cannot work by accident. A parent who cannot hold a press can sign out from any other screen.
